I love skincare and have an extensive array of products. I take the time to cleanse, exfoliate, treat, apply serums. oils and a whole host of other lotions and potions, yet my efforts tend to stop from the neck down. So I decided to treat myself to a bodycare routine and L’occitane treats, let me show you what i got.
I had used L’Occitane probably 15/20 years ago from QVC and loved it, their products are super hydrating, rich, shea butter formula’s were a lovely luxurious treat.
I’m sure I’m not alone, especially with winter on it’s way that thinks “my body is under that many layers no one will see it, it doesn’t matter”.
Yet after a while I start to suffer with really bad dry skin on my legs, they look really dull and I get bad ingrown hairs.
So I thought, I have a great skincare routine for my face, let’s create a bodycare routine, so I headed over to L’occitane.
Now sometimes ordering online is a gamble, you can’t smell or feel any of the products but on this occasion my gamble paid off, these products are AMAZING.
Let me talk you through my new body care routine…
This is such a key part in skincare, removing dead cells from the surface of the skin will make it feel smoother, look fresher and allow other producs to sit better on the skin.
I’m not a fan of scrubs, the bitty creams that no matter how long I rinse for, I never seem to be able to rid myself of all the little bits.
On my face I use A.H.A’s and other acids to exfoliate and also a flannel with my cleanser, this is often slightly rough, enough to leave my face feeling smooth.
On my body however I am a HUGE fan of exfoliating mitts, I prefer these over loofahs and the round puffs you can get, as they tend to sit and fester in your shower and can start to smell damp.
The mitts are great as you can just bung them in the washing machine after each use, they are rough enough to give a good scrub, yet no bits. They are also super affordable and a pack of 2 or 4 can be found in most pound shops.
Cleansing is the only part that we all do (I hope!), having a wash and smelling fresh is a basic part of bodycare and well just general hygiene, but the products you choose can also make it a nice treat.
Now as a household we always have a bar of Dove soap and I have refrained from buying anything else as the kid’s tend to experiment, the lids left off and before you know it it’s gone.
So this will definitely be hidden away, I opted for the Cherry Blossom Bath & Shower gel, as I said it was a real gamble on the scent but it is absolutely beautiful, a light fresh scent which lingers yet doesn’t overpower.
A drop of this on my exfoliating gloves makes a quick and easy 2 in 1 essential step in my bodycare routine.
Once you are all clean and fresh and all those rough, dry skin cells have been removed it’s time to treat and nourish your skin with a hydrating lotion.
I chose the Cherry Blossom Shimmering lotion to be able to layer the scent making it last even longer on the skin.
I opted for a create your own package, so as well as a shower gel and body lotion I got to choose a soap and a handcream. The soap was in the same Cherry Blossom scent however for the handcream I chose Neroli & Orchidee and whilst it’s not unplesant, I personally much prefer the Cherry Blossom.
In my beautiful L’occitane gift box I also got an array of complimentary samples including the amazing Immortelle rest, an overnight reset oil in serum, which I can’t wait to try.
The L’Occitane range I feel is very affordable for the quality of product and they make a lovely gift, expecially using the gift wrap option, who wouldn’t want to recieve this gorgeous sunshine coloured box with an array of luxurious treats, I know I definitely would!
